Prep 5 Slow Cooker Meals in 1 Hour

This is such a busy time of year! Shopping, baking, decorating, creating sweet memories with my kiddos.... time slips by and pretty soon we are getting ready to eat and I have nothing prepared.

I gathered 5 of my Crock Pot recipes and prepped them all at the same time. Four for the freezer and the fifth went right in the Crock Pot for that night.

It worked.
It took me one hour.
I felt like Supermom.

If you are cooking one for dinner that night, go ahead and put that recipe right in your Crock Pot and start cooking! Label your bags first then add the meat to each bag. Continue to fill each bag! When you are all done, stack them flat on a large cookie sheet and freeze. I stuck mine in the deep freeze and let them do their thing.

Slow Cooker Barbacoa
2 Tbsp + 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
juice from half of a lime
1/2 tsp chipotle pepper
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
3/4 tsp pepper
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
3/4 cup chicken broth
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp ketchup
1/2 an onion, chopped
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 lb roast, cut into 3 or 4 pieces

Add all ingredients to gallon sized freezer bag.

Slow Cooker French Dip
1 1/2 lb roast cut into 3 or 4 pieces
1 can beef stock
2 pepperoncinis
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp rosemary
1/2 tsp thyme
2 cloves garlic, minced

Add all ingredients to gallon sized freezer bag.

Chicken Marinara
2 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup parmesan
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp red pepper

Add all ingredients to gallon sized freezer bag.

Chicken Alfredo
1 jar Alfredo sauce
3-4 chicken breasts
1 bag frozen broccoli
1/2 bag baby carrots

Add all ingredients to freezer bag.

Homemade Alfredo Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 cup heavy cream
1 5 oz container shaved parmesan
pepper to taste

Warm the butter and cream in a sauce pan. Add parm and allow to melt stirring once in a while. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  {Sauce doesn't turn out after freezing, so use it the same day}

Black Bean and Corn Chicken
2-3 chicken breasts
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can green chilies
1 can seasoned black beans
1 bag frozen corn
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 cayenne pepper
2 tsp cumin
1/2 oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Add all ingredients to freezer bag.
It works best if you thaw the bag you're going to cook for about 24 hours. Cooking time will be considerably longer if it is frozen.
I cook each dinner on low for 6-8 hours.

There you go! Spend one hour and have 5 meals ready to go!

  2. Jess - on the first two recipes, the meat doesn't have to be cooked yet, right?

    1. Nope! Nothing is cooked...well just the Alfredo sauce. ;)

  3. Jess - am I right to assume you froze the meat for the first 2 recipes uncooked?
